OSLIN - the Open Source Lexical Information Network

Welcome to the Open Source Lexical Information Network

OSLIN is an initiative to build available, large-scale, high-quality lexical resources for a variety of languages. The lexica are based initially on existing dictionaries, but are constantly updated by neologism and corpus research. The lexical resources are modular, but at currently mainly contain morphological data. Resources for the following languages are available:

Portuguese
The Portuguese lexicon was the first to be developed, at the ILTEC institute in Lisbon, Portugal. The database, also known as MorDebe, is currently one of the most important lexica in Portugal, consisting of 130.000 lemmas, but at this time under the process of a major revision and expansion. It was developed with the help of the Portuguese Research Council (FCT) and the IPAD organization for the support of technological developement in Portugal. The main point of access for this database is the Portal da Língua Portuguesa
Catalan
The Catalan lexicon is still under development by the IULA institute in Barcelona, Spain. It is based initially on the two major Catalan dictionaries (DIEC and GDLC). The database is at this time not really available, since some copyright issues are still being sorted out.
